Summary content
Film interview with Joris Ivens, based on his second biography written in co-autorship with novelist Robert Destanques. At the background the Parisian airport Orly can be seen, a metaphor for Ivens’ wandering around the world and his nick name ‘The Flying Dutchman’ In one hour Joris Ivens explains in a chronological order about his long life and film career, illustrated with film extracts. This interview presents a unique introduction on Ivens films by the filmmaker himself.
