陈村，原名杨遗华，1954年生于上海。与其同龄人一样，在文革期间在农村插队。上世纪八十年代开始文学创作。陈村将精力投入网络文学发展，这是知名作家 中十分难得的；他成功地将网络发展成实验小说的园地。陈村对当代男女关系的描写以幽默和犀利的分析著称。其小说《鲜花和》(1997年)的一段节译被刊登 在荷文第35期《文火》杂志上。数篇短篇小说的荷文译文也被收入比利时第42期《猎犬》杂志和荷兰《都市生活》(1996)选集里。

Chen Cun is the pen name of Yang Yihua, born in Shanghai in 1954. Like many of his generation he worked in the countryside during the Cultural Revolution. He has been a writer since the 1980s, becoming one of the few established authors to promote literature on the internet, where he has succeeded in creating a sanctuary for experimental writing. He is known for his sharp humour and caustic analysis of contemporary relationships between men and women. An extract from his novel Bloem en (1997) was published in translation in Het trage vuur 35. Several of his short stories appeared in De Brakke Hond 42 and the collection City Life was published by Dutch publisher Manteau/Meulenhoff in 1996.
