The Nederlands Fotomuseum, with more than 1000 m2 exhibition space, offers an (international) multifaceted programme of famous photographers (Nan Goldin, Robert Capa, Joel Meyerowitz), young talents, photo amateurs and thematic issues. The museum stores no fewer than 130 archives of (famous) Dutch photographers including those of Ed van der Elsken, Cas Oorthuys, Frits Rotgans and Piet Zwart in the largest high-tech negative depot of Europe. Together these archives contain more than three million negatives and a large number of slides, prints, letters and other documents. The collection represents more than a century of Dutch history in photographic images. All acquired projects can be viewed on the website and more than 100.000 collection images can be discovered in the online image bank. The Fotomuseum houses the only restoration studio of the Netherlands, where photographs of the museum collection and of other museums and archives can be conserved and restored.
