1. What is the difference between the Dutch pavilion and the Dutch Culture Centre at 800Show in Jing’An district? And why is the DCC not located at the World Expo site?

The Dutch pavilion Happy Street is designed by artist and architect John Körmeling and is the Dutch envoy to the Shanghai Expo. The unique and creative design is made for a mass public and has the same content over its 6 months period it is open for the public. The DCC is located in downtown Shanghai in an existing industrial complex that has been recently restored into a creative industry complex. 2. How did you select the programme at the Dutch Culture Centre?

The programme is made by Dutch/Chinese professional art organisations that have a strive to work on a long time basis with China/The Netherlands. At the Netherlands China Arts Foundation in Amsterdam we have screened more than 200 projects. With Martijn Sanders, director of the NCAF, our DCC team and the main experts on the diverse disciplines we have made a selection that represents a diverse, young and ‘tailor made’ programme for China.
