CEAC
Exhibition

The CEAC is a non-profit organisation which has, since it was founded in 1999 by Ineke Gudmundsson, worked in a join venture with the Xiamen University Art College. The CEAC sees it as its main task to establish a contact between European and Chinese cultures. It has in the past ten years made and organized more than hundred exhibitions in different European countries and in Xiamen where the CEAC is located. Right from the beginning Holland has been the most important European country when it comes to exchanges artists and art teachers. For many years there has been a fruitful exchanges program between The Sandberg Institute for postgraduate art studies and Xiamen University Art College. Many Dutch teachers have been working for shorter or longer time at the Art College and many young Chinese artists and teachers have been lecturing and teaching at Dutch art academies in the past ten years. Besides having residences for foreign artist which almost always result in exhibitions of the residence artists in the Art Center, the CEAC has the ambition to bring contemporary art of Chinese and European artists to Xiamen, the hometown of the CEAC, with the intention to enrich the artistic climate in that beautiful city.
