During this performance by Boukje Schweigman& the audience is a part of the show. Everybody in the audience gets a grey dress to wear. When the audience sits down on the benches which are placed in a circle, a light-grey ring is formed. In front of the audience is a white ring and behind a dark grey one. During the performance, these rings start to move very slowly as if they are floating.
In the middle of the circle a woman is lying underneath a big object. This object looks like a stone. When the sound starts the stone starts to float; The woman rises.
Once she stands on her feet, she starts to turn around slowly, like a whirling Derwish. She speeds up. Her whole body goes in and bends but she keeps on turning. The audience can watch this incredible force of nature from a safe distance. Until, after 45 minutes, she unexpectedly breaks out of the centre. Sounds of drumming are heard on the background. With a great power she widens her rounds, coming very close to the audience. They can not be certain whether she is still in control of her body. As the music softens, the woman softens, trying to reach out of the inner circle. There doesn’t seem to be a way out. She can only go back to the centre. She slows down, she keeps on turning. A far away sound. Fade out.
