John Körmeling is the architect of the Dutch pavilion 'Happy Street' at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. Filmmaker Bas Roeterink followed him for 3 years during the construction.
Filmed up close we see Körmeling's frustrations and joy in working with his Chinese fellow workers, while 'Happy Street' is taking shape at the background.
