Marc Meijer and Nan van Houte will give a lecture on mime theatre in DDC.

Marc Meijer is the Operational Manager of Via Rudolphi, and manages Schweigman&, Boogaert/vander Schoot. He will introduce some experimental wings in Dutch performing arts. First of all he shows some examples of the artform, which coined itself with the title 'mime', but has little or nothing to do with pantomime. He will speak about another state of the art development called experience theatre, in which the audience becomes more then just a spectator. Both trends will be illustrated with experts form productions on screen.

Nan van Houte is Head of the Programming Department of Theatre Institute of the Netherlands. She will add a historical context and explain about the production conditions in the Netherlands. She will interview Boukje Schweigman on her methods of working and on her experiences during her stay as a China Hub residency-artist last year in Beijing.
